Vision & Mission:
The problem this project aims to solve is the discrimination and hatred which dramatically increased in our Egyptian society between Muslims and Christians on the basis of religious beliefs and identity. Such discrimination and hatred threaten our national unity and deeply rooted values of respecting and accepting the other, the different, no matter how different s/he is.
'Ana Masry' will work, on the one hand, to raise the awareness of the danger of discrimination and hatred and of the importance of tolerance between Muslims and Christians in Egypt, and, on the other, to foster similar projects and efforts that aim to work towards the same end, and towards the development of Egypt. An Egyptian population where there is pride in a unifying Egyptian identity and where the values of peace, tolerance and respect of diversity and differences are wide spread and celebrated.
Methodology: 'Ana Masry' methodology depends on arts in conveying the message of religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and social cohesion amongst all Egyptians. The project employs a creative way to attract children and youths to the idea of national unity through engaging them in cultural and artistic activities that indirectly teach them social values which the project aims to plant in them. Why arts?Art is a very lively means to convey any message, especially with children and youths since it works indirectly to create a dynamic environment that attracts young persons and encourage them to interactively engage with the ideas and messages of the day, and to participate in developing their community.
