Research and Development (R&D), itself, is an important bridge factor between too much consumerism
and valuable production. It involves the nurturing of homegrown know-how, or its acquisition, and
thereby obtains more value in any supply chain. The need for more qualified Egyptian scientists, with a
focus on R&D, is self-evident.
The Program aims to achieve its goals by:
I. Sponsoring graduation projects at Egypt’s national universities, their engineering departments for a start - complemented with a lecture series on the topic of R&D – delivered by top-notch scientists/professionals involved in the field;
II. Assisting promising young Egyptian scientists in securing R&D internship opportunities with reputed corporations/research institutes, nationally and internationally;
III. Assisting promising young Egyptian scientists in securing scholarship opportunities to pursue masters and doctoral studies in the field of R&D or related thereto;
IV. Building an R&D library;
V. Finally, with the maturity of the foregoing activities/goals, evolving a National R&D Fund to incorporate those components and offer young Egyptian scientists international scholarship and internship opportunities.
What is the Annual competition?
We institute an annual competition to stimulate excellence in scientific research among university students.
What are the Awareness Lectures Series?
We also arrange a series of science and technology lectures and training workshops designed to promote the culture of research and development (R&D) – delivered by top-notch scientists/professionals involved in the field;
Academic library: The YIA team started a small library on R&D. Three books were purchased: two directly linking the potential of R&D to development, and the third on the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
