Award for Excellence in Graduation Projects 2010 - 2011
125 awards will be granted to students in their senior year to help them build their innovative graduation projects in the faculties of Engineering, Science, and Agriculture (in national universities), thanks to a new sponsorship agreement with the program’s sponsors for the year 2010- 2011. In an effort to stimulate the culture of Research and Development, the Program’s sponsors are solidifying their commitment to the future of the Egyptian scientific community through their donations to the Young Innovators' Awards (YIA) program. The grant is funded by Sawiris Foundation (Gold Sponsor), Misr El Kheir Foundation (Silver Sponsor), Mobinil and SADKO (Bronze Sponsors), and supported by the Research and Development Innovation Programme (RDI) and Al Korra Foundation.

The mission of the Sawiris Foundation is to contribute to Egypt’s human development efforts by supporting initiatives that promote job creation through training, quality education and access to micro credit. The RDI Programme aims at strengthening the links between the research sector and the industry while enhancing the innovation and technology transfer culture. Managed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and funded by the European Commission with a grant of € 11 million, the RDI Programme, launched in October 2007, aims to contribute to enhancement of Egypt’s economic growth and international competitiveness through improving its research, development and innovation performance. Additionally, the RDI Programme succeeded in strengthening the links between the Research and Development (R&D) sector and the industry through its EU-Egypt Innovation Fund which financed 51 multidisciplinary projects.
