NM Co-hosts CIVICUS Outreach Meeting in Cairo

           Nahdet El Mahrousa & CARE Egypt are co-hosting the CIVICUS Outreach meeting in Cairo on Tuesday the 19^th of August. The meeting will take place at CARE’s Egypt office in Hadayek El Maadi, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

          A Brief presentation of CIVICUS vision and programmes will be given at the beginning of the meeting. It will be followed by an interactive session tackling issues of importance for the Egyptian and Arab Civil Society. Another topic on the discussion list is CIVICUS potential contributions to these important issues in the region. The speakers will be Mahi Khallaf & Yosi Echeverry Burckhardt. Mahi Khallaf is CIVICUS Participatory Governance Programme Researcher. She is a civil society practitioner, researcher and consultant who has worked with CIVICUS in different capacities after joining it in Johannesburg in 2003.  Yosi is a German/Colombian who works as CIVICUS Civil Society Networks Associate. After spending the last years living and studying in the Arab world, she has joined CIVICUS in January 2008 and is working on the Civil Society Network.
