In terms of plans for further expansion:
a. Geographical Expansion: as stated earlier, the team started in the 2nd and 4th floors of the Internal Medicine Hospital as a first step. Later the team managed to include the 6th floor. The 3rd, 5th, and 7th floors and eventually the ICU (i.e. all of the hospital) are to be tackled starting mid-July 2008. It depends on the house-officer volunteer availability. If possible, this may be achieved before the end of June 2008.
b. Expansion in the hours of the day covered: the 24 hours shall be covered when the awareness of all the staff has been raised and their behavior changed so that they automatically comply with the guidelines on their own volition. This shall also be promoted by sporadic visits by supervisors starting in June 2008, to be later intensified.
c. Expansion in terms of the infection control guidelines supervised: The current guidelines supervised (injection anti-infection) have been taught to the volunteers as "Level One" in their course. The most important of the rest of the invasive procedure guidelines (Urinary catheter, Feeding tube) guidelines shall be taught in "Level two" of the course, for the implementation in August/September 2008, using similar strategies to the ones described above.
