A Student's Testimonial

“I have said it before but I want to say it again. Joining the YIA program was an invaluable experience to me. It isn’t only a matter of funding our project; it is me gaining a lot of experience through Nahdet El Mahrousa’s (NM) awareness lectures and excellent connections with great people as Ms. Nada El Gammal and Mr. Mohamed El Zarkani. They are extremely helpful, friendly and self motivated people. They did their best to motivate us along the year to do our best at our project and to put high goals for our career. I do believe that NM succeeded in achieving their direct and indirect goals of the YIA program. For their direct goals, three ladies in our team got hired in multi-national companies in the Communications Industry. Moreover, I got a scholarship from University of Toronto to pursue my Masters degree because of my experience I gained in my graduation project. As for their indirect goals, they built our self confidence, self-motivation and mutual trust. Finally, I’d like to thank everyone at NM for their great effort to improve our community & Keep up the great work!''                                                                                          Ayman Mohamed Shalaby - Alexandria University – Faculty of Engineering

The YIA signs a partnership with the Industrial Modernization Center

Preliminary talks of cooperation and pooling of synergies with the Industrialization Modernization Center ("IMC") in June- July materialized at the end of the summer with major cooperation, a cooperation that provided the YIA program with nothing short of a "quantum leap!" The IMC provided 110 awards (EGP4000 each) for graduation projects, 5 for each of Egypt's national universities; another 110 awards (EGP2000 each) for any innovative idea related to the industry regardless of class standing; 20 scholarships for MSC students, each worth EGP15000/year up to 2 years; 15 awards for Ph.D. students, each worth EGP20000/year up to 3 years; and another 3 awards, worth EGP20000 for the best three graduation projects at the end of the year. The partnership helps the IMC to achieve one of its core mandates, which is fostering the culture of research and development in Egypt and connecting it to the industry, by pooling synergies with the NGO represented in the Nahdet El-Mahrousa’s YIA Program, the originator and developer of the idea and the project. The partnership brings the YIA to scale its project's activities up to achieve national coverage.
