About SRDA

Samsung Real Dreams Award (SRDA) Program
“Dream. Innovate. Create.”

Note: The application deadline has been extended to midnight on August 1st.

SRDA is a national competition which provides grant awards to young Egyptian scientists who develop innovative prototypes to help solve real-world challenges facing the Egyptian industry.

Above all else, SRDA is interested in funding the development of innovative projects. In other words, we are primarily interested in funding products or services that are completely new in the Egyptian market, or in customizing an existing global product or process to meet the needs of the Egyptian market.

The competition has two phases. Initially, 15 projects will be selected to participate in the competition. Then, these selected projects will compete in the SRDA final ceremony where an evaluation committee will select the top 5 winners.

The top 5 winning projects will be awarded EGP 10,000 each. Recipients will use the financial award as seed money for their business start-ups.

The Samsung Real Dreams Award Program is an extension of the NM Young Innovators' Award (YIA) program whose goal is to stimulate a culture of research and development among university students studying in the technical fields of engineering, science, and agriculture.  In support of their final year graduation projects, the YIA program provides awards to students based on their submitted proposals for innovative ideas linking education to industry. The Samsung Real Dreams Award, offered once per academic year, takes this project to the next level, providing grant awards to 5 to 6 student groups based on their actual prototypes. The screened and selected prototypes are expected to be the seeds for new business start-up projects post-graduation.  To apply, applicants must:
